SENIOR RESEARCH PAPER

Welcome to your research guide for your 12th grade ELA research paper.  Please contact either your English teacher or Mrs. MacDonald in the library for help. 

Research Paper

One of your major product grades in ELA for this semester is to write a research paper on one of the topics associated with George Orwell's 1984. This website will give you resources on the novel,  handouts from class, citation help, and potential sources to use in your paper.

Step 1 - Choose your topic. Click here for ideas.

Step 2 - Based on your topic selection, choose the most appropriate databases and evidence to use for your essay.  A link to your teacher's Google Slides is posted below. Click on the titles at the top of this page to find potential sources.

Step 3 - Begin Writing! Refer to the links below to get started.

Step 4 - Create your slides.  You need at least 9 slides.

Step 5 - Create your references slide formatted in APA style.  There is a citation link below.

Requirements 

  • 2-4 sources (each cited at least once)

  • MLA Formatting - click on citation help for easy citations!

  • Arial, Size 11 OR Times New Roman, Size 12

  • 2-3 pages

  • Double Spaced

  • Works Cited Page
